If you have a car without a security system, or if the one you have isn’t working, you can easily choose an affordable and reliable security solution by setting up the suggested circuit. It shouldnt cost you more than a dollar.
How the Circuit Works:
You can put the circuit together on a small perf-board by soldering the parts according to the provided diagram.
Once you’ have assembled the basic vehicle immobilizer circuit and placed it in a suitable case, you can connect it to your vehicle’s ignition system to prevent the car from starting without permission.
Here’s how the circuit works in detail:
The circuit we’ are talking about is just a basic setup with one main part: a high voltage capacitor (10 uF/400V).
Capacitors can block signals that have a frequency, meaning they let alternating current (AC) go through.
We’ are using this feature of capacitors to make the circuit secure. Vehicles start and keep running mainly because of their ignition system, which is like the heart of how they work.
The ignition system lights up a mix of fuel in the chamber by creating a spark with high voltage. This spark comes from the ignition coil.
So, we need to stop this spark to prevent the vehicle from moving or to lock it down completely.
If we put a high voltage capacitor between the ignitions high voltage source and the ground, we can block the high voltage sparks from reaching the spark plugs, which stops the ignition.
The diagram shows that we do this by attaching the capacitor’s wires to specific points. But if you want to bypass this security, you can just disconnect the capacitor by flipping a hidden switch.
You could hide this switch under the hood or somewhere only you know about. If you are not sure how to wire everything up, it is best to get a professional car electrician to do it.
